I will be working next vintage in Martinborough, which is located in the southernmost tip of New Zealand's North Island. Martinborough has established a solid reputation for rich cherry flavored, full-bodied Pinot Noir. There are numerous boutique wineries located in this small province and I'll be working for Te Kairanga.
I'm excited about this move for two reasons. One, anyone I've spoken to that has been to New Zealand told me how breathtakingly beautiful the landscape is. And two, the new winemaker at Te Kairanga, John Kavanagh, worked at the very prestigious Neudorf Vineyards for 10 years and has a great reputation.
Wish me luck and as always, I'll keep you posted!
