  1. Karen, I have been loving your blogs and enjoy following your travels especially that I don't have time anymore. Oh and no money. What is your recommendations for some outstanding wines in the $10 range, price range a college student can afford! Flavia and I love Pinot Noir!

    1. Thank you so much! And of course I can make some recommendations. I have two in mind but let double check the retail price. Good luck with school!

    2. Sorry it’s taken so long to get back to you but harvest has been crazy busy. It just finished though so now I can breath again ☺ So I emailed 3rd Corner in OB for their current wine list but I didn’t get a response so the following are recommendations from BevMo!, which is located in Point Loma and Mission Valley and known for great value wines. Not sure what your flavor profile for Pinot Noir is but if you like pleasantly ripe fruit and slightly on the sweeter side then Cellar No 8 Pinot Noir 2010 [$8] is your kind of wine. If you prefer a richer, darker style of Pinot go with Gnarly Head Pinot Noir 2010 [$9] or a great wine for just $2 more is La Merika Pinot Noir 2010 [$11]. It has gotten some impressive accolades and is being compared to other wines twice it’s price. Castle Rock Pinot Noir 2010 [$12] is one of the best values and probably one the of the finest examples of a classic Pinot. It is well balanced with ripe, slightly spiced red fruit, smooth with hints of oak. Or if you like a bit of sweet n’ sour, check out Mcmanis Pinot Noir '09 [$10]. It’s a dry and balanced wine that combines red currant flavors with a bit of cherry cola and some spice. It has great reviews and sounds interesting. Hope this helps and if you have anymore questions just ask…it’s a pleasure to help! Take care
